Blog entry number one for ALPHA Level technology inc. While getting the finishing touches done on the website (just launched by the way) I began to give some more serious though as to what I was going to write for my first blog entry. I can ‘t imagine how many technology related blogs there must be out there so how was I going to make mine different. The simple answer was “I don’t know”. Having said that what I do know is that I have a passion for technology and I enjoy not only working with it but also helping others to do the same.
There are those people who just seem to “get it”. In the 60s and 70s they wore pocket protectors on their shirts and lab coats and propellers on their heads, not that I ever did. I’ve only just heard about it. *smile*. For the rest of the population of planet earth, technology in its various forms can be daunting, intimidating, uninviting and down right unfriendly. Most of the population does not care if it’s s-video or HDMI, they don’t care if it’s USB or Firewire, and does it matter if it’s FTP or TCP? Well it would be just easier to sit on your SMTP and have a POP! Some of you may be reading this with a smile, other are reading and thinking WTF, the less technical acronym. My point is that with all the layers of complexity in technology, at the end of the day most people don’t understand it they just want it to work.
So back to my blog, why am I taking the time to write this stuff and more importantly why are you spending your valuable time reading it? My overall goal will be to break technology down into its simple bits and bytes components and demystify its complexities for those who care to read and gain a better understanding of what goes on behind the screen, on the wire and after the mouse click. Hopefully it will be a little light hearted and fun to read and perhaps if we are all not careful and looking the wrong way, we may all end up learning a few things.
Will this blog have a name? Well my company name may be a bit long and I’m certainly not going to name it after myself. Let’s see, Demystifying Technology, Hmmmmm. For now I think the name is less important that getting the content out there. I’m sure as this thing evolves, it will earn its appropriate name.
For now this first entry will introduce me, Hi, and my company, ALPHA Level technology inc. If you’ve come this far hopefully you’ve gone through the site www.alphaleveltech.com and already know a thing or two. If not let me sum it up by saying I have a passion for technology and I consider it a tool that I like to teach people (individuals and organizations) how to use properly to get the job done right the first time while keeping in mind preservation of our environment.
